Waking Up Asleep
Sheffield’s Ghosts’ delicate drift falls upon yr ears like a lost bout of sleep paralysis; crystallising bodies in dense fugues of ruby glue, filling bedrooms with terror. ‘Drum Lake Dream’ wanders hypnotic, slipping breathlessly from naïve K Records swing to quiet noise glimmer as it seeks out a pair of host ears, while ‘These Days’ has already set up camp in the brain of some poor soul. Whispers blur soft and Hag Phenomena – you put the gentlest kind of frighteners on those who can see but can’t move, caught for a few moments between states, the demon and the door.
