Gang Sore Queen Of Kankakee
Dawn rising up over Chicago, the karaoke bars closing and Meghan Remy’s decided to go with big band bellows before heading out into the cold. Taken from the maiden 7″ on Cherry Burger Records, it’s what you’d expect from U.S. Girls after the bold 60s girl group anthemics and industrial kank of last year’s phenomenal Introducing, out via Siltbreeze. Sandwiched between two new cuts and a cover of the Ronettes classic “I Can Hear Music” is this sauntering gem written by Remy with her friend Bret Koontz. On top of that she’s got releases coming out with Not Not Fun and Night People.
