Fresh Air

New things on the way, but with September on, an ask - track of the year so far? So busy, so on point. FaltyDL’s the real thing, red and violet sparks in the dark. New EP Bravery’s out through Mu in October.

Quiet city, quiet city

Curb Crawlers recently posted some tracks from upcoming UK producer Doc Daneeka. As they say themselves, it’s the rolling, dark + soulful vibes (most apparent on this brooding remix of 2004’s DMZ classic) which stand him out from the more abrasive funky cuts of Lil Silva, Roska et al - those between which he effortlessly dot joins on his latest Rhythm & Bass Vol. 1 mix. Expect to feel more of the same if you’re heading out Carnival way this weekend.

No Pain In Pop label showcase

As part of Off Modern’s week long South East in East festival - designed to highlight the best art and music coming from the capital’s thriving but forgotten quarter - we’re hosting a No Pain In Pop label showcase this Tuesday. We’re sad to say the previously announced debut shows from Forest Swords and Among the Bones will not be happening - they’re victims of prospective employment and swine flu respectively. However, we are very excited to announce a special guest from the label will be joining A Grave With No Name, who are releasing the ‘Mountain Debris‘ collection in November, and Deep Sht, them of October’s ‘Weird You EP‘ , on the bill. So, to confirm, it’s on Tuesday 1st September at Vibe Bar on Brick Lane, London, and tickets are available on the night for £5. We’ve a pair of tickets to give away free, just send us an email - us@nopaininpop.com - with your name and we’ll pick a winner at random.

I like how the drab architecture’s gawped at like beautiful women. And the colour of the noise at the beginning.

The Bedroom Club

(found at FACT)

It’s just gone half past nine in America and Drew ‘FaltyDL‘ Lustman continues to explore clubland’s intimate spaces, the skipping, mooning ‘Party’ out soon alongside ‘AlpaFun’ on a Ramp 12″.
