Gentle Friendly are David (vocals, keys) and Daniel (drums, organ). They found some high-grade coffee and a drum kit in a skip in their adopted home of Peckham, south London. Matching these with some antique keyboards and samplers, they began to play songs in their basement until their neighbours chased them overground with knives.

Free from tether, Gentle Friendly sky-ride, hovering islands of keys buoying them upward on warm flats of cry cloud, drums a jetpack throwing them on from one rattling star to the next. Glides reveal the soft beds of others - the rub of This Heat’s wrestling textures vying with sounds found some 55,000 ft up; fugitive earth melodics x “anything screw’d & chop’d” + “huge glistening party anthem” giving way to a sound as arresting as it is evasive.
