banjo or freakout
Blasttoff!
The ‘No Pain In Pop‘ compilation is launched on Saturday night at a warehouse in Whitechapel, London. Playing live are Banjo or Freakout, Trailer Trash Tracys, and A Grave With No Name.
In suitably glorious commemoration, here’s a new remix of NPIP005 courtesy of full steppin’ omni-producer Phaseone, and a track from the manic stablehands’ latest batch of home recordings.

Today Alessio Natalizia, aka Banjo or Freakout, releases his double A-side debut single ‘Mr No’ / ‘Someone Great’, on 7″ and download. Both formats are available for you to buy through the new No Pain In Pop store. The launch party is tomorrow (the 13th) at White Heat in Soho, London, with support coming from two No Pain In Pop affiliates: A Grave With No Name and Radiant Dragon - tickets here.
To celebrate here’s an MP3 first commissioned and cast forth by us a few months ago. After demand sunk our bandwidth for an age it resurfaced, proudly resplendent on ‘blogs elsewhere here, here and, eventually, here. Forza Banjo.

New Totems, Rituals

Sunday night was a rare one. !!!No Shows Forever!!! inched tentatively into the tepid, sulky light of Deptford to make its debut play and won so emphatically. Around 160 copped legion bangs, broken glass and four of the city’s finest; PENS, who you should know about already, as you should Banjo or Freakout, Gentle Friendly, Ponytail and (imminently at least, at last) Graffiti Island. A review of sorts lurks after ‘the jump’.
