Homobeats

No Pain In Pop released this 7″ single last July - and now the only place with a few copies left is our webstore. So, Brooklyn aside, here’s the track from South London’s mysterious Sunni-Geini. Prog-steppin’ and proud; they are the goose trapped in your Ryan Air engine.

Pop Vidz

Directed by Katherine Nolfi

The track that pulls the invisible, second pair of lids from your eyes so that you might gaze in proper awe upon the shimmering gleam of Telepathe’s Dance Mother, ‘So Fine’ juts up imposing and steep, Sitek’s production on the album (marrying bass to dirt, treble to sky) mirrored by Nolfi’s direction here, which starts hungover and ends back in the club, by way of food porn and street dance.

Five imaginary musical futures: alternatives to 2009

Photography by the inordinately talented Hannah Elisabeth

You do want your pulse to flutter, don’t you?

Photography: The Man With No Name

Telepathe’s debut full-length Dance Mother was released Monday. To celebrate one of No Pain In Pop’s most cherished? Pulled from a Merok-commissioned remix series presented by the frontiersmen at XXjfg, The Oscillation’s take on Telepathe’s ‘Devil’s Trident’ burns slow and stealthy, like a plot waiting to unravel in muted gunfire and screams too distant for ears to trace, though we always saw Telepathe with knives: lurkers who came to rest one night in the shadow of the unsatisfied rich; pale, dub-eyed squatters in the tower of Babel.

And those gleaming eyes were odd, languishing in basements with rave stitches and blade bruises, membranes slum hardened into impenetrable purple. The select troupe gathered there nightly, skulking the secret route traced on maps in deserted playgrounds, the call rang out to inverted navigators: start at ‘You Are Here’ and follow the eastward arrows west, southern // north.

As the workers at the summit built for the Gods they were the shadows cast on neglected floors, the left young; a darkness gaining close and just behind, to one night emerge into the moonshine and commence the silent slaughter of those sleeping from their day in the sun.
