Bye bye baby bye

DC’s honorable Underwater Peoples are dropping a Summertime Showcase compilation, out May 28th. Here’s a few picks - namely Liam the Younger, Julian Lynch and Pill Wonder. Given that it also glimpses the exceptional Sad City, Ducktails and Real Estate - you should probably make hay to download the record in full here, and then buy the CD by dropping them an email.

It’s pretty much all anthemic lo-fi (”nu-Americana”?) and it’s pretty much all so wildly good it’s quite hard to comprehend. Maybe it’s just that each track has a weird setting-sun nostalgia, synchronized and slowly drifting down with my early morning eyelids.
